MUSTAPHA'S SECRET: (Synopsis)
Morocco, an Islamic (Muslim) kingdom expelled all missionaries in 1968. Leilla (her adopted name in Arabic, original name withheld in order to protect her identity), an American missionary, a tent maker, gained a resident permit in Morocco by working as a teacher. In secret home meetings for several years, she taught the Bible to Moroccan children.
Mustapha and Rashid, two young boys, visited Leilla's underground meeting for a little fun and frolic by disrupting her meeting.
Mustapha found more than adventure and left the meeting wanting to know the TrueGod. He knew if his father caught him visiting this Christian home, he could be punished severely. His desire to know the true and living God and to be able to pray to Him overcame his fear of punishment.
Mustapha found what he was looking for. After accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and forgiveness of sin, he was no longer separated from God. Then he wanted to share this secret with his best friend Rashid.
Through many trials, errors and prayers Mustapha eventually convinced Rashid to visit Leilla's meeting. A year later, Rashid also became a Christian believer.
The events and characters in this story are composites of true-to-life events taking place in the Muslim world. Originally this true story is written by Sandra Klaus and Published by GOSPEL MISSIONARY UNION, 1988.
